(English version down french one) Le redoutable Mumbere Kasauti qui troublait la quiétude de la population dans la partie Est du Territoire de Lubero a été tué vendredi 29 aout 2014 grâce à une population dynamique est épeurée
Les habitants des villages de Bianze, Kandole et ailleurs s’étaient mobilisé pour mettre la main sur Kasauti et son garde de corps un certain Kasereka. Les civils avaient fait de la rançon, 350 dollars, un guet apens pour en finir avec l’aventure Kasauti. Après avoir déposé la rançon sur une pierre comme exigé par le ravisseur Kasauti, la population a monté la garde tout au tour. L’imprudent Kasauti et son garde de corps est venu se ruer sur la somme après avoir libéré l’otage. Une dispute sur le partage du butin a permis à la population de sortir de partout au tour des rebelles, mettre la main sur eux et les lapider. Les Forces Armées de la RDC envoyée dans la zone pour combattre ce rebelle étaient arrivées alorsqu’il n’y avait plus rien à sauver. Les FARDC avaient récupéré les 4 armes AK 47 dont se servaient Kasauti et Kasereka. Le corps de ce redoutable kidnappeur a été mis en terre le lendemain, samedi 30 aout 2014 par la Croix Rouge locale.
Kasauti, la fin d’un phénomène
Le phénomène Kasauti constituait une véritable menace pour la sécurité de la région maraichère et ses environs dans la partie est du territoire de Lubero. Ce rebelle qui se réclame être originaire de Kirumba est passé par plusieurs mains, anciens miliciens Mai Mai PARECO, démobilisé aux FARDC, puis rentré au maquis, il s’était ce dernier temps illustré tristement par des kidnappings des civils. Fort de quelques badauds seulement, il se nourrissait sur le dos de la population par des braquages, vols, kidnappings, viols etc. Le dernier forfait à son actif c’est l’enlèvement jeudi 28 aout dernier du Pasteur Muhindo Mukanirwa du poste de la Communauté Baptiste au Centre de l’Afrique, CABCA Kauli Lac. Cette acte aura été fatal pour Kasauti et aura été sa dernière bavure sur la terre. La mort de Kasauti réjouit la population et la société civile de cette partie de la Province du Nord Kivu. La joie est d’autant plus grande que le phénomène Kasauti avait paru comme une situation difficile à éradiquer car plusieurs expéditions militaires pour mettre la main sur ce rebelle avaient accouché d’un échec, s’est réjouit un acteur de la société civile, joint au téléphone. Ce dernier a tout de même déploré que le fait que la population est réussit à arrêter un homme que les forces de sécurité ont échoué à capturer jette un discrédit de professionnalisme sur les FARDC et réduit la confiance de la part de la population civile.
